Judy in Disguise

Title: Judy In Disguise (With Glasses)
Artist: John Fred and his Playboy Band
Year: 1968
Album: N/A
Charts: UK: Reached No 3
US: Reached No 1

John Fred Gourrier formed the group in 1956. John Fred wrote this song in 1967 along with band member Andrew Bernard as a parody of a Beatles hit 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds'. The song became very popular, indeed it knocked another Beatles song off the No 1 position.

The group were a "one hit wonder" in the UK. Even in the US they became known as a novelty act and did not have any more hits.

For a great music experience, why not try Napster?

Lyrics:

Judy in disguise, well that's what you are
Lemonade pies with a brand new car
Cantalope eyes come to me tonight
Judy in disguise, with glasses

Keep a-wearing your bracelets and your new rara
Cross your hear-yah-with your live in bra
Chimney sweep sparrow with guise
Judy in disguise, with glasses

Come to me tonight, come to me tonight
Taking everything in sight
Except for the strings on my kite

Judy in disguise, hey that's what you are
Lemonade pie, hey got your brand new car
Cantalope eyes come to me tonight
Judy in disguise, with glasses

Come to me tonight, come to me tonight
Taking everything in sight, except for the strings to my kite

(Oh, Uh oh, Uhhh)
Judy in disguise, what you aiming for
A circus of a-horrors, yea yea, well that's what you are
You made me a life of ashes
I guess I'll just take your glasses
